Riviera Keys has worked this coast since 2004 and calls itself Franco-Scandinavian, which shows in what it publishes: the site appears in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Finnish as well as English, German and French. For a Nordic buyer that is rare here. The Cannes office is on the Duboys d'Angers roundabout, one of four along with Nice, Antibes and Saint-Raphaël, so a search running from Menton to Saint-Tropez can sit with one firm instead of four separate mandates. It handles sales, seasonal lets, valuations and searches on behalf of buyers.

One thing to get straight before you move any money. When you sign a compromis de vente (preliminary sale contract) you pay a deposit, usually five to ten per cent, and in a normal French transaction that goes into the notaire's escrow account, not the agency's. The notaire is a public officer holding client funds under supervision, which is the protection you are relying on. If anyone asks you to send a deposit to an agency account or a personal one, stop and ask why. Buying from abroad, where you are wiring money to people you have met over video, is exactly where this goes wrong, and it is the one check worth making on any purchase on this coast.
