What Alliance Française Nice Côte d'Azur offers English speakers in Nice

The Alliance Française occupies a building on rue de Paris five minutes from Nice's station, and its scale is what separates it from the small schools: over two thousand students a year, its own residence with seventy-five studios, a café and a media centre on site. More than eight in ten of its teachers are accredited DELF, DALF and TCF examiners, and it runs teacher training and university preparation courses as well, so the place teaching you A1 also trains the people who will mark your exam. Courses and exam sittings follow a published calendar rather than starting whenever you turn up.

Its Qualité FLE label is worth understanding when you are comparing schools. Created in 2007 and awarded jointly by the ministries of higher education, culture and foreign affairs, it audits a French-language centre on its teaching, staff, premises and services, then grades the result. Around a hundred centres across France hold it. Nice has several, so the label alone will not choose for you, but a school that does not hold it has either never applied or not passed, and it is a fair thing to ask about.
