English

Les Petites Canailles is on rue de l'Armée d'Orient in east Nice, walkable from Gare Nice-Riquier and on the tram, with twenty PMI-approved places for children from ten weeks to three years. It runs 08:00 to 18:00 and has 200 square metres inside plus a 145 square metre garden, which is close to unheard of this centrally. The approach borrows from Montessori, with mixed-age groups and a settling-in period where a parent stays, and English comes informally through songs, stories and games each day rather than as a structured bilingual programme. The crèche says so plainly, which is worth more than a marketing claim.

Two practical points decide whether you get in. Applications open during pregnancy, and the crèche is candid that long-term places usually need employer co-funding, an arrangement where a company reserves places for its staff, while shorter placements depend on what happens to be free. Otherwise fees follow the municipal scale through the CAF calculation and there is a simulator on the site. So the first question to put to an employer on this coast is not about salary, it is whether they hold crèche places.
